Giardia can be very serious in people with weakened imune systems. Giardia is a common water bourne illness. This can be contracted by swimming in or consuming infected water. The symptons of Giardia are diarrhea, gas, abdominal pain and a general feeling of sickness. This is a gastrointestinal infection so the main symptons will be linked to the gastrointestinal system.
