Cholera

Caused by Vibrio cholera (bacteria)

Cholera can be carried in infected fecal material and can infect a body of water that is close to areas where high numbers of infected livestock feed and get rid of waste. Common symptoms are leg cramps, dehydration and diarrhea. Choloera can become life threatening in people if it goes untreated. To avoid the dehydration that can lead to the cramping the treatment is to have plenty of fluid replacement and electrolyte replenishment.
