šÙ: Fishy FindsÿMatt DiPietro, Theresa Waltner, & Patrick Hardin Target Grade Level - Grades 4-12 Our MUDES project is being modified to help students with the classification of fish that are common to North America. There are 18 fish included in the project. Some of the areas being used to help students classify the species of fish are characteristics found in the head, dorsal and ventral fin description, tail fin, body shape, and color. We are then providing a list of attributes to describe each of these regions of the different fish. Under the item description, we will be listing URL addresses specific to the fish along with at least one image of the species of fish for identification. All of the images have come from online photographs from the public domain.ÿÿ CXAttdata)Hinge of Mouth in Front of Eye€)Hinge with mouth under eye€'Forms a hump in front of the dorsal fin€5Head Sloping Away From Dorsal Fin, Not Forming a Hump€)Has Whisker-like Barbels€Scales Noticable€Scales Not Noticable€Solid or Entire€Two Not Joined€ Two Joined€ Close Together€ Far Apart€Torpedo €Round and Bulky€ Snake-like€Ordinary Fish Body Form€Dark Vertical Bars on Body€Dark Blotches on Body€Solid Body Color€ Spotted Body€Indented€Flat€Brown€Blue€Green€Orange€Grey€Black€Red€Yellow€Slightly Indented*ÿÿ CXMenudataÿÿ!€Head)!€ÿÿ!€Fins !€ Body Patternbody pattern.bmp!€Tailtail.bmp!€Scale Coverage scales.bmp!€ Fish Color!€ Dorsal Finsdorsal fin.bmp !€ Ventral FinsVentral Fins.bmp !€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€Body Shape/Formbody shape.bmp !€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ Head Shapehump.bmp!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€ÿÿ!€Mouth mouth.bmp4See specific url's in each fish species description.ÿÿ CXItemname American EelL€Atlantic SalmonL€ Blue CatfishL€BluegillL€ Brook TroutL€Bullhead CatfishL€CarpL€ Channel CatfishL€Large-Mouth Black BassL€ Northern PikeL€PickerelL€ Rainbow TroutL€ Rock BassL€Small-Mouth Black BassL€Wall-Eyed PikeL€ White CrappieL€ White SuckerL€ Yellow PerchL€ rupestrisL€ nebulosisL€ rostrataL€ commersoniiL€carpioL€ americanusL€luciousL€furactusL€ punctatusL€ macrochirusL€ dolomieceL€ salamoidesL€mykissL€ flavescensL€ annularisL€salarL€ fontinalisL€vitreusÿÿ CXItemrec ÿP Length: 12 - 16 inches Weight: 3 - 4 lbs.
