Darwin Week in Oxford, OH!
The Miami University and Oxford communities are invited to celebrate
the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birthday! During the week of
February 9th, there will be a variety of activities to commemorate
Darwin's significant contributions to science and American culture.
Darwin Week is organized by Miami University senior Lyndsay Ehrmann as
her senior capstone project in American Studies. Each event will bring
together the public in a different way to learn about Darwin and have
some fun!
Darwin Week Schedule
• Wednesday, February 11th, 7-9 PM, 9 Laws Hall = Film Screening. Miami
University seniorLauren Roberts and Ohio State graduate Haroon Iqbal
will screen their films about Charles Darwin, the Creation Museum, and
local conflicts related to evolution.
• Thursday, February 12th, 4-6 PM, Hefner Zoology Museum, Upham Hall =
Happy Birthday, Charles Darwin! This celebration is the finale of
Darwin Week, and takes the theme of a birthday party. There will be
cake and punch, and a Darwin Scavenger Hunt. The Museum will also
unveil the new Charles Darwin exhibit to be shown for the next several
months. Come celebrate Darwin and have some fun! Everyone is welcome.
