Primary cell wall of variable thickness
Thickest wall is adjacent to intercellular space (stomatal pore) between the two guard cells. This wall is heavily cutinized and may be lignified. Outer periclinal wall is typically thick and is heavily cutinized and sometimes lignified. The wall adjacent to the intercellular space and periclinal outer wall are covered with a cuticle and/or wax. |
