Phases of the Moon
words by Scott Hudson
(Tune: Here Comes Peter Cottontail) Here's our phases of the Moon,
January, March or June,
Every month you'll see it every way.
Crescent, gibbous, full or new,
Each month you'll see it moving through
Phases that will change some every day.
Starting with a Moon that's New
You can look and see a few
Stars because the Moon cannot be seen.
But soon a Crescent will appear
Waxing daily, never fear,
And then First Quarter, its left side unseen.
Waxing Gibbous, growing large,
Within a week, it seems to charge
Into a Full Moon, very, very bright.
But it won't stay that way for long.
The light begins to be less strong.
The Waning Gibbous comes into our sight.
Third Quarter is the next to show.
This time the left side will glow,
Waning as it starts to grow real small.
This Crescent takes the shape of "C".
As we observe so gradually,
It moves to New, which we can't see at all!
