Grass Clippings???
If you have grass clippings, sprinkle a layer over the soil and leaf layer. Avoid chemically treated grass clippings if you plan to use your finished compost (humus) in a vegetable garden. The chemicals will get into the vegetables and make them unsuitable for eating.
