OWSA MEETING JULY 28, 2001
Meeting Called to order at 8:00 by President, Debbie Olinger-Daulton.
Clubs Present: Stillwater, Mid-Ohio, Utopia, Columbus Aqua, Hidden Lake, SunSite, Pleasant Shores, Van Treese Family Skiers, Piqua, Lottawatta and Cajun Lake.
Treasurers report given by Debbie Kern
Balance in the account is $6,360.20. The personal Social Security was finally taken off the account allowing OWSA to be given an EIN# and a non-profit status. This allows us to now collect interest on our money. There is $2,000 in the checking account earning 1.5% interest and $4,360.20 in the savings account earning 4% interest.
Council Report given by Greg Chapman
Greg thanked Mike and Carol Meek for hosting the State Tournament. The Midwest meeting was held in January in Orlando at the new USA Water Ski headquarters. Items discussed were online sanctioning and emailing tournament kits. Greg also discussed: Junior Development held at Pleasant Shores by Jeff & Libby Van Treese thanking them for their efforts and asking the clubs to start thinking about hosting the 2002 Junior Development clinic & tournament. Greg recognized the Midwest Region Junior Team, which includes 3 Ohio skiers (Kayla McClure, Carly Clifton & Kristin McClure), the National Junior Team, which includes 2 Ohio skiers (Kayla McClure & Carly Clifton) and welcomed Jamie Metcalf from the New Zealand National Junior Team, who skied in the State's. Greg Davis was promoted to Senior Driver and our own Ohio native Rich Lambert made a new National Slalom Record of 41 1/2 off. Mike Meek will be heading to Italy in September to coach the US team, then to Chile to coach the Junior Team and compete on the Veteran Team. 3 of the 6 USA Water Ski Scholarships were given to Midwest skiers and one given to our own Ohio skier, Mark Chapman for the second year in a row.

OWSA agreed to have a new banner made with the new logo on it
New Business
Greg Davis made a motion for 2002 officers.

Mike Meek seconded the motion, motion carried.

Debbie Kern made a motion to spend $150 to file a form with the Federal government as a non-profit organization so that we don't have to file a return every year. Bob Archambeau seconded, motion carried.
Bid for the 2002 State Tournament
Columbus Aqua and Pleasant Shores bid to host the 2002 State Tournament. Votes from each club were collected and the winner was Pleasant Shores.
Good of Order
Debbie thanked Randy Winfield for the new logo and asked everyone to purchase their T-shirts and wear them at the Regionals, Nationals and other tournaments.
