Biology is the study of life. This is the definition that you can find in just about any textbook,but what does that mean? What is life? What requirements must an object meet in order to be alive? How did life originate? Why are there so many different living specieson Earth? Where did they all come from? How are they related to each other? What caused certain species to go extinct? How are different species connected to each other in their environments and how did these relationships develop and change over time? As you may have noticed, science is fullof challenging questions, but keep in mind that nobody has all of the answers. That is what makes science fun, the never-ending pursuit of knowledge. |
