The Reading Blue Devils opened the season by placing fourth at the Spartan Duals on 12/9/00.
The Blue Devils forfeited the first three weight classes each time they stepped on the mat.
The Blue Devils lost a close match to Lasalle, the eventual second place team, 26-33 in the first round. They rebounded by beating Kettering Alter in the second round. Reading then beat Kings to advance to the 3rd place match.
In the consolation finals Reading was matched against the division II-III #1 ranked Cavaliers of Purcell. After battling back from the forfeits, Reading made a stratigic move to move our 215 wrestler to wrestle 275. This put the Cavaliers up by 3 points going into the final match. In an extremely exiting match, the Purcell wrestler prevailed and the Blue Devils fell short, losing by 9 points.
